Maryse Bouchard, MD
Dr. Maryse Bouchard is a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Her treatment and research interests are primarily foot and ankle deformities and injury (clubfoot, lower limb deformities, fractures), and children with genetic bone and soft tissue disorders. Additional research foci include access to health care both at home and in low-income countries, corruption in health care, and socioeconomic impacts of disability after injury.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Dr. Bouchard attended Dawson College and obtained her medical degree at McGill University; she obtained a Masters of Science and completed her orthopedics residency at the University of Toronto in Ontario. Research on access to orthopaedic care and medical devices in low-income countries led to work in Uganda and Rwanda in 2010.
After a year of adult foot and ankle surgery as part of her fellowship training, Dr. Bouchard completed a clinical and research fellowship at the University of Toronto, and additional training in Brussels, Belgium. An interest in the care of children brought her to Seattle Children’s Hospital where she completed a second fellowship in general pediatric orthopaedic surgery. Following a third fellowship in adult and children lower limb reconstruction at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, Dr. Bouchard joined the staff at Seattle Children’s and the University of Washington.
